Czarnecki will talk about Lincoln's June 1862 trip from Washington to West Point – the farthest trip he would take as President and the only time he would visit New York State. He stopped in Putnam at the Garrison Depot and took a tour of the West Point Foundry in Cold Spring.

The three-day trip ended up at the U.S. Military Academy, and was a little-known historical footnote until recently.

Czarnecki will speak at the Putnam Valley Historical Society Museum, located at 311 Peekskill Hollow Road in Putnam Valley. The program is free of charge to the public.
